1st Annual "Stars and Guitars" - A Night Among The Stars!
Saturday, September 20, 2008

This was a fundraising event benefiting the East Texas Chapter of The American Parkinson Disease Association to help with educational and support programs for Parkinson's patients and their caregivers held at the beautiful Villa di' Felicita in Tyler.  This fundraising event brought about Parkinson's awareness and provided support and educational programs to the Parkinson patients and their care partners here in the East Texas Community.  All tickets bought for the event were tax deductible as the APDA East Texas Chapter is a 501 (c) organization which is a not-for-profit organization.  The Special Buffet Dinner started at 5:30 p.m. and a Cash Bar was provided throughout the night.  There was a Live Auction and a Silent Auction raised over $8,000 additional funds throughout the event.  Dancing to live entertainment provided by the legends of country music, Gene Watson, Leona Williams, Ferlin Husky and newcomers Ron Williams, Crystal Sands and Matt Fisher and their bands.  Valet Parking was provided at the event.  It turned out to be a wonderful night fun, laughter and dancing the night away.  Next years event will be held on September 19, 2009, at the Lone Star Event Center in Tyler, Texas.  Look forward to seeing everyone there. ~~ Kelly M. Pierson, CCRC, APDA Information & Referral Cente Coordinator
